When it comes to national security, not only has Rob Cornilles failed to learn the lessons of the past, but he actively advances ideas that would weaken our nation.
With more than 4,400 Americans killed in Iraq, and no weapons of mass destruction anywhere to be found, Rob still believes that starting the Iraq War was the right move:
“I did support the move to Iraq, back in 2003. I think it was the right thing to do for our country.” (January 19, 2010, Americans for Prosperity Meeting, Warrenton, OR)
And even more importantly, Rob Cornilles hopes that if enough Republicans are elected to the Senate, they can halt treaties meant to reduce nuclear weapon stockpiles.
Instead of helping to reduce the spread of nuclear weapons around the world, Rob would stop a carefully negotiated arms treaty. If more nuclear stockpiles continue to be available, it is more likely that these dangerous weapons will fall into the hands of terrorists and rogue states.
